How to avoid pain in your ears when flying

Although you have to adapt to your destinations and planned activities, whenever I go to a foreign country, I always take these essentials with me.

Earplugs: At first glance, they may seem harmless, but for me, they're a necessity! As much as I love flying, my ears are pretty sensitive to pressure changes. Whenever I flew as a child, I had to either ask for "Mickey Ears" on the way down, or suffer greatly. I remember flights where I had ear pain for 3 hours, or barotraumatic otitis. The only solution I found was to take corticosteroids. It was really too strong a remedy for me.

N.B.: For those who don't know, "Mickey's Ears" are towels that you wet with boiling water and put in the bottom of cups. Each cup is then placed over each ear. The heat helps to relieve pressure and therefore pain in the ear.

Then I discovered earplugs. They've become more than just an accessory, they preserve the pleasure of traveling. With them, no more headaches... and earaches, and no more inconveniences in flight. No more need for medications like corticoids.

N.B.: Of course, if I'm ill, I have to supplement with medication, as the plugs alone aren't enough.

I highly recommend them if you have sensitive ears, fly or even go skydiving.

The ones I use are these: Sanhora Fly

N.B.: this product exits in child et adult versions.

Watch out! When the mechanical filters turn from brass to green, it's time to change them.

I haven't yet figured out how to avoid replacing them. But in any case, I'll never part with them again!
