Toulouse, France's fourth-largest city, may be known as the Ville Rose (Pink City) and sung by Claude NOUGARO, but it's full of dynamism. Not only is it the capital of aeronautics and space, it's also a place known for its dancers of all kinds. As my knowledge is limited, I won't be able to list them all.
But here's what you need to know if you love to dance. Toulouse can cater for everything from Latin to swing and ballroom dancing.
Personally, I'm very fond of swing dances, and they're the ones I've mastered the most. In fact, Toulouse has multiple world champions and French champions in Boogie, Lindy Hop and Balboa (and no, we're not talking about Rocky).
1. Full of parties
Even if Covid has come and gone, there's still plenty to do in Toulouse. In the good old days, there was at least one a day.
From Monday to Saturday, Puerto Habana is open to all Latin dance fans. It's the place to be for everyone.
Every week, the Trac opens its doors to multi-dance evenings (Rock, Salsa, Boogie).
Studio Hop offers a wide range of swing evenings from Friday to Sunday. Special mention should be made of the afternoon dances dedicated exclusively to Balboa and Shag.
N.B.: Toulouse is one of the few cities in France where Balboa is danced...
Of course, Kizomba and West Coast Swing fans will also find something to their liking. I'm just not familiar with these dances.
2. National and even international events

Every year, numerous festivals are organized in Toulouse or by Toulouse schools.
The following festivals are particularly noteworthy:
The Battle: for international dance competitions and classes in Lindy Hop, Charleston, etc.
Le Boogie And Lindy (BAL) Festival: for Lindy Hop and Boogie workshops.
Tango Postal: for all tango lovers
The European Balboa Festival: famous Balboa competitions and workshops, where Europe and Asia meet to dance and have fun to wild rhythms.
And there are many more that I can't mention here
3. High level schools
Of course, this wouldn't be possible without Toulouse's multitude of top schools, which make all this nightlife, dancing and excitement possible:
4 avenue de Rangueuil
31400 Toulouse
43 avenue Dumeril
31400 Toulouse
144 rue de la Providence
31500 Toulouse
82 route de Bayonne
31300 Toulouse
I'm a bit biased, but, for me, Studio Hop offers the best training and has the best catalog of swing dances, if you ever decide to settle in Toulouse.
